A Look Into Our Shilajit-Making Process

A Look Into Our Shilajit-Making Process

Our process is deeply rooted in traditional techniques, and we follow age-old purification methods to ensure that the Shilajit we deliver is as pure as nature intended.

Did you know that Shilajit was formed over 4,000 years ago and it has been used in folk and alternative medicine in holistic Ayurveda, Chinese, and Tibetan cultures?

This rare resin oozes from the mountains at extreme altitudes, often above 12,000 feet, making it one of the most challenging natural substances to obtain.

At Pahadi Amrut, we take pride in offering pure, high-quality Shilajit, sourced from the untouched Paddar Valley of Jammu & Kashmir.

Our mission is simple yet powerful and brings the ancient wisdom of Himalayan wellness to the world, ensuring that every drop of Shilajit we deliver is authentic, safe, and packed with nature’s best minerals.

To understand our commitment, let’s take you behind the scenes into our Pahadi Shilajit-making journey. From the treacherous extraction process to the careful purification and packaging that preserves its purity.

About Us at Pahadi Amrut

Pahadi Amrut is a Himalayan purity legacy. Aditya Sumbria founded our journey with a deep-rooted love for nature, passed down through generations.

Inspired by the pristine landscapes of Jammu & Kashmir, we committed ourselves to sourcing and preserving the most powerful natural products of the Himalayas, ensuring their authenticity remains intact.

We work closely with local extractors and traditional Ayurvedic practitioners to bring you Pahadi Shilajit that is untouched by modern-day contamination.

Our process is deeply rooted in traditional techniques, and we follow age-old purification methods to ensure that the Shilajit we deliver is as pure as nature intended.

At Pahadi Amrut, we believe in sustainable sourcing, supporting local Himalayan communities, and ensuring that every batch of our Shilajit meets the highest quality standards before reaching you.

Why We Chose Shilajit?

Shilajit is one of nature’s greatest wonders—an ancient resin packed with over 85 minerals, fulvic acid, and bioactive compounds that have been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine.

At Pahadi Amrut, our fascination with Pahadi Shilajit comes from its unparalleled health benefits:

  • A Natural Energy Booster – Known for fighting fatigue and improving stamina.

  • Supports Cognitive Function – Helps improve memory, focus, and mental clarity.

  • Aids in Muscle Recovery – Popular among athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

  • Powerful Rejuvenator – Used for anti-aging and overall vitality.

However, we also discovered a growing problem of fake and adulterated Shilajit flooding the market.

Many products labeled as “Shilajit” contain coal, chemical additives, and synthetic fillers, robbing consumers of their true benefits.

This is why we chose to take matters into our own hands sourcing, purifying, and delivering only the highest quality, 100% pure Shilajit, straight from its origin in the Himalayas.

Shilajit’s Formation Process

Shilajit is not something that can be manufactured as it is a natural wonder that takes centuries to form deep within the Himalayan mountains.

But how does Pahadi Shilajit form?

  • Plant Matter Accumulation – Over centuries, organic plant material, microbial life, and minerals become trapped in rock crevices at high altitudes.

  • Extreme Pressure & Temperature – The organic matter undergoes slow decomposition, transforming into a dense, mineral-rich resin under the pressure of the Himalayan mountains.

  • Natural Seepage – During warmer months, the black, tar-like resin starts to ooze out of the cracks and fissures of Himalayan cliffs, forming pure Shilajit deposits.

This rare natural phenomenon only occurs at altitudes above 12,000 feet, making Shilajit one of the most difficult and dangerous substances to extract.

It is found in India (Himalayas), Tibet, Russia, and parts of Chile, but Himalayan Shilajit is considered the most potent due to its rich mineral content.

At Pahadi Amrut, we only collect Shilajit from the Paddar Valley in Jammu & Kashmir, ensuring it is pure, untouched, and sourced ethically.

Our Approach to Shilajit Sourcing & Purification

Sourcing pure Shilajit is an art in itself. It requires skill, patience, and experience to collect it safely from the steep, rocky cliffs of the Pir Panjal Range.

A Glimpse Into the Extraction Process

Meet Manohar Lal, a seasoned Shilajit extractor with over 30 years of experience. He is one of the few in his village who dares to climb these cliffs.

The Journey

  • The team treks for 2-3 days to reach the Shilajit deposits at 12,000 feet.

  • Climbing is extremely dangerous—with just a rope and basic tools, Manohar carefully scales the sheer rock walls.

  • Once he reaches the deposit, he chisels out the hardened Shilajit resin, ensuring no damage to the surrounding rock layers.

Extraction Timing

  • Shilajit is harvested twice a year in spring and autumn, when the temperature is ideal, and fresh deposits are naturally exposed.

  • If not collected before winter, it gets buried under thick layers of snow, making extraction impossible.

Manohar’s Words

"Extracting Pahadi Shilajit is not just work for us as it is a legacy passed down from our ancestors. Every trip is risky, but we do it because we believe in the power of pure Shilajit. It has healed our families for generations, and now, through Pahadi Amrut, we share it with the world."

Traditional Purification Process of Pahadi Shilajit

Raw Shilajit cannot be consumed directly. It contains natural impurities like sand, rock particles, and plant residues. At Pahadi Amrut, we follow time-honored Ayurvedic purification techniques to ensure 100% purity while preserving its mineral-rich composition.

Shilajit Purification Methods We Follow

Step 1: Initial Cleaning & Soaking

  • The raw Shilajit is soaked in Triphala Kwatha (a herbal decoction) or alkaline water to loosen impurities.

  • It is left under the sun for 3 hours, allowing natural separation of unwanted elements.

Step 2: Filtration Process

  • The liquid is carefully filtered multiple times using fine cotton cloths to remove sand and grit.

  • It is transferred to new vessels, repeating the process until the water remains completely clear.

Step 3: Sun Drying & Concentration

  • The final purified Shilajit is collected in stainless steel trays and left under the sun for natural drying.

  • This process ensures that the full potency and mineral balance of the Shilajit are retained.

Step 4: Lab Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Every batch is lab-tested for purity to ensure it is free from heavy metals, synthetic additives, and contaminants.

  • Only after passing strict quality checks is it packaged and ready for customers.

This meticulous process guarantees that Pahadi Amrut’s Shilajit is among the purest available worldwide.
